Obituary for Joseph Magnus
Joseph Magnus 10/27/31 - 3/9/2020
Born in Rostoky, Slovakia, Joseph emigrated to the US in 1952 with his mother Anna. They joined his father Michael and settled in Greenpoint Brooklyn. After starting as an elevator operator, which allowed him to learn English, he moved on to take computer classes at NYU and never looked back. He spent years working in the field and loved to tell people that he was “the best computer guy on the East coast and only the Silicon Valley had better. He later married the love of his life Margaret and moved to Middle Village in Queens. He became a volunteer EMT and spent decades in dedicated service at the Middle Village Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MVVAC). He was a proud Republican and visited the White House several times during the Bush years. He is survived by daughter Tanya and son in law Chris, who adored him, as well Sean and Maggie (his twin grandchildren) and his beloved beagle Misty.
